A third travel lane will open tomorrow, December 19 on northbound Pyramid Highway from Los Altos Parkway north to the Blue Gem Estates entrance. The newly added third lane has been closed to allow crews to finish concrete, drainage and utility work in the area. Roadway rehabilitation has not yet been completed north of Los Altos Parkway and the pavement markings are temporary.
DRIVER CAUTION: Free Right from Los Altos to Northbound Pyramid
Traffic using the free right turn pocket from Los Altos Parkway onto northbound Pyramid Highway must stop and yield. The previous merge that allowed drivers to gather speed before entering traffic has been transformed and extended into the new through travel lane. As the new lane opens tomorrow, drivers using the turn pocket are reminded to yield and to use extra caution before entering traffic.

Project construction will temporarily pause from Friday, December 20 to Monday, January 6 for the holiday break.
Crews will work January 6-10, 2025, and then the project will enter a winter suspension. A winter suspension is needed as the only remaining work to be completed requires consistently warm temperatures.
The project is on schedule to be complete by summer 2025.
