Southbound Pyramid Closure Extended

Due to ongoing pipe crossing work, the nightly southbound closure on Pyramid Highway has been extended through Friday, July 21. Commuters on Pyramid Highway can expect the following traffic control in place:

  • Southbound (SB) lanes CLOSED between Disc Drive and Farr Lane, nightly between 9 p.m. and 4 a.m. Detour to Disc Drive to Sparks Boulevard, then to Baring Boulevard to McCarran Boulevard

  • Northbound (NB) traffic reduced to a single lane between Farr Lane and Los Altos Parkway, nightly between 9 p.m. and 7 a.m.

All lanes, both SB and NB, will be open during the daytime. Expect congestion and delays through the work zone during peak hours. Pedestrians and cyclists will continue to use the designated, barrier-protected path located on the east side of the highway.

Future detours may be needed, with details provided in advance.

  • Excavating near Los Altos Parkway to allow for roadway widening

  • Construction near the Truckee Meadows Water Authority facility by Farr Lane for the installation of a new retaining wall

With increased construction activity, commuters are encouraged to use extra caution through the work zone and obey the speed limit and construction signs for everyone's safety.
